Tony Romo was 18/29 passing for 309 yards and a pair of touchdowns, Miles Austin had 145 yards receiving and a TD on seven catches and Jason Witten had 107 yards on five receptions as the Dallas Cowboys (8-3) had little trouble getting past the Oakland Raiders (3-8) 24-7 on Thanksgiving.
Nick Folk provided the only points of the first quarter, giving the Cowboys a 3-0 advantage with a 36-yard field goal. The Cowboys offense really got started in the second as Felix Jones scored on a 46-yard touchdown run to grab a 10-0 lead and that advantage was extended to 17-0 when Romo hit Austin on a 9-yard TD pass with 31 seconds left in the half.
Oakland came out in the second half and looked a lot better as Bruce Gradkowski led the Raiders on a long drive, eventually hitting Darrius Heyward-Bey on a 4-yard TD pass to cut the Cowboys lead to 17-7. The Raiders then forced the Cowboys to punt on their next possession but Oakland couldn’t move the ball and after they punted away Romo led Dallas on a three-play drive that was capped with a 6-yard touchdown pass to Roy Williams to seal the game.
Dallas forced the Raiders to punt nine times in the game after holding Oakland to just 4-14 on third down conversions.
