Police Continue Search for Man Suspected in Brutal Thanksgiving Day Murder in Florida

Police are continuing to search for a man they believe responsible for gunning down four relatives, one of them a six-year-old girl, during a Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday.

According to police Paul Michael Merhige had attended the dinner with about 17 family members at the Jupiter, Florida house, left shortly after the meal and then returned with a handgun and opened fire. It is unclear what sparked the shooting as police have said family members did not mention an altercation prior to Merhige returning.

Merhige, who had no previous criminal record, shot and killed the young girl, his twin sisters and an aunt while also injuring a brother-in-law before fleeing. Police have  said Merhige is considered armed and dangerous.
