The third quarter wasn’t much help for Illinois as Pike tossed his fifth touchdown of the game, a 10-yarder to Armon Binns to move Cincinnati in front by 22 points. Illinois could manage just one field goal in the frame but opened the fourth with a 2-yard TD run from Williams and the Illini were within 42-30.
