Serena Williams Fined Again!

Serena Williams gets fined for an outburts

Bill Babcock announced to The Associated Press Today that Serena Williams was fined for $82,500.  This was the result for her outburst during the U.S Open.  She became extremely upset and lashed out at a lineswoman after a foot-fault call at the end of the U.S. Open semifinal loss.  Serena till ended up earning $350,000 by reaching the semifinals.  Kim Clijsters ended up winning.  This could also lead into a suspension from tournaments and any Grand Slam in the next two years.

Bill Babcock who is the Grand Slam administrator says Williams will face a probationary period at Grand Slam tournaments in 2010 and 2011.  If she has another “tirade” at a major championship in the probationary time period her fine would increase to 175,000.  She would also be banned from the following U.S opening.

This type of behavior seems like a pattern for tennis start Serena Williams.  We hope that the accumulation of all these fines will help her control her temper more.  We wish Serena Williams all the luck with her future matches.
