Tim Duncan scored 27 points and pulled down 7 rebounds to lead the San Antonio Spurs (47-20) past the struggling Indiana Pacers (30-37) 90-72. While the Spurs have won eight of their last ten, the Pacers dropped their ninth in their last ten.
Indiana was able to hold the Spurs without a field goal over the last 4:17 of the first quarter and led 22-17. They increased their lead to nine in the second quarter but San Antonio responded with an 11-0 run and were up 28-26. After the Pacers hit a pair of free-throws and tied the score the Spurs went on a 10-1 run and went up by nibe.
The Spurs then used a 13-0 run in the third quarter to knock the Pacers out. By the end of the period San Antonio was up 70-50.
With the loss the Pacers continued their free-fall from the Eastern Conference playoof hunt. Indiana’s loss to the Spurs dropped them behind the Orlando Magic for the eight seed.
