During the holiday season, drug and alcohol addiction increases. The holidays present more stresses and seemingly good reasons to turn to drugs or alcohol. To one on the verge of addiction it can be the final push needed into full-blown addiction. More than ever this is the time for family members to come together and assist those in need of help. Narconon- Suncoast Rehabilitation Center is the answer to helping a family member overcome addiction.
According to the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) Director Gil Kerlikowske, “ Substance abuse affects millions of Americans, their families and their communities, at all levels of our society.”
The Director goes on to say, "... at this time of year, those in recovery often face many of the same stresses and emotions that once contributed to their substance abuse. But with the help of family, friends and community, those in recovery can win the daily struggle to remain clean and sober and emerge from the holidays on course for a continuing recovery,"
The Narconon program has proven itself to be far more successful at handling drug addiction than other programs. In fact, it has a more than 70% success rate in permanent recovery from drug addiction this standing far out from the usual 20% success rate of other programs.
According to Suncoast, “Most conventional drug treatment programs don’t really teach a student to regain control over their lives... It’s important for the addict to be free to focus on addressing their problems without having to deal with work, home life, or any negative influences that might be in their current environment.”
The center effectively treats drug addiction on an in-patient basis with the Narconon program in a highly personalized way. The Narconon program has an over 40 year history in successfully treating drug addiction. At Narconon Suncoast there is a high student to staff ratio and clients are not treated as patients overcoming a disease but as students on the way to learning new skills and abilities to overcome their drug addiction.
According to the ONDCP, in 2008, an estimated 23.1 million people age 12 and older were in need of treatment for an illicit drug or alcohol use problem. Of those people, 2.3 million received treatment at a specialty facility.
In most cases it is the family that has to step in and assist the one addicted to get help.
Clearly there are many yet to be helped in overcoming drug addiction. However, with a program as effective as the one delivered at Suncoast the effort to help on the part of a family member doesn’t go to waste.
There is a solution to drug addiction. The Narconon Model provides that solution. At Suncoast they treat all forms of drug addiction street drugs, prescription drugs or alcohol.
It is important for the ones we care about to get the help the need during the holidays. If you or someone you know would like more information on Suncoast
