Jeter Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year

Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year

Sports Illustrated has named Derek Jeter sportsman of the Year.  Derek Jeter is the first Bronx Bomber to receive the title.  The 35 year old is thrilled for the title.  Last year’s recipient was Michael Phelps.  Other baseball recipients include Sandy Koufax, Cal Ripken Jr. Randy Johnson, and Curt Schilling.   Hollywood Collectibles has a huge collection of autographed Sports Illustrated magazines from the 1950’s.

This had been an impressive year for Jeter.  A couple of weeks ago he won his fifth World Series title.  Jeter told The Associated Press “When I heard it, what can you say?  It’s one of the greatest honors you can achieve in sports.”  At Hollywood Collectibles we would like to congratulate Derek Jeter on this honor.
