Justin Timberlake Volunteers Too Much Information for Tennessee Senators

Plans to honor Justin Timberlake for his music career and “meritorious service to the State of Tennessee” have been nixed after Senator Raymond Finney objected to the resolution drawn up by Sen. Ophelia Ford.

Timberlake, 26, grew up just north of Memphis in the town of Millington. Sen. Ford had wanted to recognize the former ‘N Sync singer for his contributions but Sen. Finney pointed out that the image portrayed by Timberlake may not be one worthy of State recognition.

With a catalogue of songs that include “SexyBack” and “Rock Your Body” along with his involvement in the Janet Jackson “wardrobe malfunction” at the 2004 Super Bowl Timberlake didn’t quite meet the standards of Finney.

Sen. Finney simply said “It's not something I want my name on” and removed the resolution.
