Lawyers representing Britney Spears, 25, won a British court order prohibiting English media outlets from publishing details surrounding the “Toxic” singers time in rehab.
It is believed that the order was made as a means of stopping a particular individual who has been trying to sell information about Spears’ time at the Malibu treatment facility, Promises.
Schillings, a leading media management law firm based in central London, released a statement after the court’s decision stating “An emergency injunction was obtained...on behalf of Britney Spears to restrain the person or persons, known as `John Doe', who has/have been leaking information about Ms Spears' time in a rehabilitation clinic from further disclosures invading her privacy.”
The firm went on to say that they were seeking a court order that would force certain UK media outlets to divulge their sources so that they may identify ‘John Doe’.
Britney Spears left the Promises rehab clinic yesterday after spending nearly one month undergoing treatment for alcohol dependency.
