Florida Gators Carlos Dunlap Arrested for DUI

Florida Gators defensive end Carlos Dunlap was arrested early Tuesday morning for DUI. Dunlap, 20, was taken in to custody after Florida authorities found him slumped over the steering wheel of his 2000 Chrysler at a complete stop at a traffic light.

Officers turned off the ignition and awoke Dunlap, who they described as “very groggy” and showing signs of intoxication. Dunlap told police he was “at a gathering and headed home.” He was arrested around 3:50 a.m. after refusing to submit to a breathalyzer test.

Dunlap is currently in jail awaiting a hearing set for this morning. He faces a second degree misdemeanor DUI charge.

Gators spokesman Steve McClain said the team is “aware of the incident and are currently gathering more information.”
