College Football News: Florida Gators Starting DE Carlos Dunlap Arrested, Charged with DUI

The Florida Gators may be without the services of Carlos Dunlap when they face the Alabama Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game after the starting defensive end was arrested and charged with driving under the influence early Tuesday morning.

According to police reports Dunlap was arrested at 3:25 a.m. near the campus of the University of Florida. He was then taken to jail and booked before being released on his own recognizance several hours later.

Police found Dunlap slumped over in his 2000 Chrysler as the car sat idle at a green light. Officers attempted to speak with Dunlap and have him unlock the door but he could only manage a few words before falling back to sleep. Eventually the officers managed to unlock the car and turn of the ignition.

Dunlap was then administered a field sobriety test which he failed. The school has not released any comments regarding Dunlap's availability for Saturday's SEC Championship game.
