As the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy launches it's awareness campaign encouraging community support of those recovering from substance abuse this holiday season, it is heartening to know the Narconon program in Michigan has a long proven track record of successful drug rehabilitation.
Narconon Freedom Center was an official participant in Battle Creek's Holiday Parade for 2009 and along with celebrating the holidays in their recently renovated facility they are celebrating a seven year track record of assisting those with substance abuse problems to lead drug-free lives.
Successful drug rehab, to be considered successful, must be looked at from a long-term statistical view. The question to ask any drug rehabilitation program is: "Does the client remain off drugs even years following treatment and successfully live drug free?"
It is the answer to this question that sets Narconon Freedom Center apart from other drug rehab programs. Typical 12-step drug rehab programs and short term rehab have a long-term success rate of 16-20%. The Narconon program delivered at Narconon Freedom Center has a long-term success rate of over 70%. Narconon Freedom Center clients not only handle the physical aspects of addiction, but learn new skills to successfully live drug-free lives.
Students doing the program at Narconon Freedom Center routinely notice Narconon's different method of approach as did this Freedom Center graduate: "[At Narconon Freedom Center] the staff was very caring and understanding of what I was going through. They helped me to apply what I was learning so that it was actually me fixing myself. This was pretty amazing to me as most other treatments rely on someone else telling you what your problem is... It's one thing to be clean, but to anyone that has been though what I have with treatment it is almost totally unheard of to be clean, productive and happy. I am all of them and I attribute it to the Narconon Program and the dedicated staff who helped me along the way. Thank you from the bottom of my heart."
Narconon Freedom Center is different in its approach in that it doesn't consider its clients patients to forever be branded with some form of illness. They consider their clients as "students" who are learning new skills to regain control of their lives addressing each of the factors that led them down the road to addiction and they gain the knowledge to handle them.
As another student explains, "[At Narconon Freedom Center] I was expecting to be treated like some kind of delinquent but they were brilliant. I wasn’t made to feel guilty for what I had done. It was more like being taught about how these drugs had affected my body and led to an addiction... It gave me the chance to really look at my health as a whole and start fresh. Narconon Freedom Center reminded me that I need to respect and look after my body, instead of thinking more pills will be better...Narconon provided the helping hand I needed to get my life back on track without the need for drugs."
