Loews Corp. (NYSE: L) said Monday it has named Jacob A. Frenkel to its board of directors, according to Associated Press.
Frenkel is chairman of the Group of Thirty (G-30), a private, nonprofit group focused on international economic and monetary affairs.

He has previously served as non-executive vice chairman of American International Group Inc. (NYSE: AIG), chairman of Merrill Lynch International Inc. and as Governor of the Bank of Israel.
Loews is run by the Tisch family and owns a diversified portfolio of companies including hotels, insurance and energy-related concerns.
Shares of Loews slid 26 cents to $35.16 in after-hours trading. The stock had closed up 42 cents at $35.42.
