Allen Iverson is returning to where it all started as reports have suggested the former NBA MVP has accepted a one-year, non-guaranteed offer from the Philadelphia 76ers.
Iverson briefly retired after a short stint with the Memphis Grizzlies earlier this year. In his retirement statement Iverson expressed his decision wasn’t based on diminished skills or a lack of desire but rather the situation he was in.
The 10-time All-Star has said he wants a primary role on a team and with the 76ers losing Lou Williams for up to eight weeks Iverson is likely to land that spot.
Philadelphia is said to have offered Iverson a deal worth just over $1 million and he could be in uniform by Monday when the 76ers face the Denver Nuggets.
