Camel Cigarettes Maker Purchases Swedish Quitting Aid

Financial World News Update by Equities Magazine

Cigarette maker Reynolds American is making moves to purchase a Swedish producer of nicotine, gum and pouches designed to wean people off cigarettes called Niconovum AB.

Reynolds, the nation’s second largest cigarette producer, states that the Nicovum’s products would fulfill consumer demand and public health goals regarding health risks presented by cigarette smoking.

Should the deal go though, Niconovum has an estimated worth of $44 million. Reynolds is looking toward cigarette alternatives and quitting aids to supplement losses, resultant of increasing health concerns, taxes and smoking bans.
