12 Years a Slave, starring Chiwetel Ejiofor, Michael Fassbender, Brad Pitt, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Giamatti, Sarah Paulson and Paul Dano, opens in theaters Friday, October 18. The drama, set in the years before the Civil War, centers on a freed black man who is abducted and sold into slavery.
The film has a runtime of 2 hours 14 minutes and is rated R for violence/cruelty, some nudity and brief sexuality.
