San Antonio Spurs Pound Seattle Supersonics for Third Straight Victory

Tim Duncan scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, Manu Ginobili added 19 points, and Tony Parker finished with 18 points and 7 assists to lead the San Antonio Spurs (49-20) in a 120-79 blowout over the Seattle Supersonics (27-42).

San Antonio had seven players score in double figures as they won their third straight and moved to within three games of second place in the Western Conference playoff picture.

The Spurs shot 53 percent from the floor and 51 percent from beyond the three-point arc, and 84 percent from the free-throw line.

Tony Parker scored ten of his 18 in the first quarter as the Spurs jumped to a seven point lead after one. By the end of the second quarter San Antonio was up 53-40. Heading into the fourth quarter the lead was 81-65 and San Antonio had already pulled their starters.

In the fourth quarter the Spurs used a 13-0 run to boost their lead to 102-72. They then went on an 18-2 sprint at the end of the game and were up by 43 before Seattle ended the game with a pair of free-throws.
