Home Depot, Inc.’s (NYSE:HD) former executive Guillermo Martinez of Cumming, GA has plead guilty in federal district court on Wednesday, December 2, to stealing trade secrets from the company. Martinez, formerly the home improvement retailer’s senior manager, provided a document entitled “Wire Devices: RFP Summary” with a local vendor. The document was marked as “Proprietary & Confidential to The Home Depot.”

Martinez was first assigned to the vendor in January of 2008. The vendor was later invited to participate in Home Depot’s product line review. Martinez provided the vendor trade secretes so that the vendor could gain an advantage of its competitors in the product line review.
