Global Rent A Scope Spotlight: Teenage Researchers
Nicole Melso Teenage Researcher
High School Senior Nicole Melso uses the Global Rent a Scope (GRAS) observatories for a special science project. In 2008 Nicole's project consisted of a study of the relationship between the size of asteroids and their rotation periods. She hypothesized that the smaller the asteroid diameter, the shorter its rotation period would be. Nicole chose four M-type asteroids for her study, and she monitored them using the GRAS online remote controlled telescopes.
Nicole will be interviewed live on Astronomy.FM radio by Dr Marleen Bryan in a new show that will Spotlight Global Rent A Scope users. This show is Global Rent A Scope Spotlight: Teenage Researchers.
Tune in to the live radio stream on Friday evening at 8:30 EST or 0130 UTC to learn the results of the study as told by Nicole herself! She will also be discussing her current research project with The American Association of Variable Star Observers AAVSO and cataclysmic variable stars.
Global Rent a Scope has partnered with with Astronomy.FM to bring exciting professional quality observing resources to the astronomical community at very cost efficient prices.
