Peoples Flower Shops, an Albuquerque, New Mexico based, family-owned and operated florist, reminds customers that Saturday, October 26th is National Make a Difference Day. The Albuquerque florist is participating in the event by promoting its charity contributions through its Helping Hands Program.
Make a Difference Day was started over 20 years ago as the largest national day of community service. This special day is about helping neighbors and improving lives, and it is a very important day for those in the Albuquerque area with numerous projects planned within the community to help those in need.
If volunteering is not possible, Peoples Flower Shops also recommends buying flowers, a plant, or gifts through their online store and making a contribution to a local Albuquerque organization as part of the Helping Hands Program. Currently enrolled Albuquerque organizations include La Puerta de los Ninos, Waking Up Alive, Albuquerque Academy, Susan G. Komen, American Cancer Society, Watermelon Mountain Ranch, National Hispanic Cultural Center Foundation, Jewish Community Center of Albuquerque, Special Olympics New Mexico Inc., Albuquerque Christian School, Albuquerque GED Inc., Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Mending Broken Hearts Ministries, Animal Humane New Mexico, St. Mary’s Catholic School, NDI New Mexico, The Figueroa Music and Arts Project, CYFD Albuquerque Boys Center and Chavurat HaMidbar.
