Governor Candidates in Oregon Debate Education Funding and Economic Recovery

In their first appearance together on the same stage, Oregon’s four announced candidates for governor debated on issues ranging from education funding to the overall economic recovery yesterday.

 

At the hour-long forum, former Secretary of State Bill Bradbury pointed out that former Gov John Kitzhaber had failed to adequately fund schools while in office while simultaneously vowing the produce a plan to raise money for schools.

 

Businessman Allen Alley said the state needs to remove government barriers to economic recovery to aid working families while former GOP legislator John Lim said that, after two decades of Democratic governors, a Republican leader is the key to stimulating the economy.
