Former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich was critical of President Obama’s job forum. Gingrich believe that restoring America’s job market is a task that would benefit from the input of business interest groups more than it would excessive discussion of the problem itself and too little of the solution.
"Virtually anybody whose real business is trying to create jobs" was missing in action at the conference said Gingrich at a town hall meeting at Millsaps College.
"The way, historically, that we create jobs in America is to encourage people who know how to create jobs. ... We encouraged Bill Gates to invent Microsoft. We encouraged Sam Walton to invent Walmart," he said, noting that "Today's White House conference is an enormous disappointment for every American who is worried about the economy."
Gingrich’s outspokenness on the topic could likely be the result of murmurs regarding a Presidential bid in 2012. He continues to rail loudly for more capitalistic thinking, nudging the adminstration to place entrepreneurship at the forefront of the job creation initiative,
Gingrich believes the stimulus money was misplaced and would have benefited the nation and joblessness in general had it been allocated to the private sector rather than government funded programs.
Additionally, Gingrich discussed ideas to fix the nation economy, among them wiping out the capital gains tax and death tax.
