VIENNA, W.V. (December 4, 2009) -- West Virginia's most gorgeous woman will run alongside a bearded barefoot man through Parkersburg on Thursday. The two will then host a public meet-and-greet at Anytime Fitness in Vienna.

The unlikely duo are raising awareness, and $100,000,000, for homeless youth.

When Erica Goldsmith, Miss West Virginia USA, heard through a trainer at her gym that Tellman Knudson was running barefoot across America for his RunTellmanRun charity, she immediately offered her celebrity to help raise awareness.

Knudson, currently 556 miles into his 3,200-mile barefoot trek across the country, will also be introduced to the Wood County commissioners during their session Thursday morning.

Immediately following the commissioners meeting, around noon on Thursday, Knudson and Goldsmith will run barefoot through Parkersburg. The press are invited to film and photograph the one-mile run. Knudson and Goldsmith will be available for interviews immediately proceeding.

At 6 p.m. Thursday evening, the duo will be available for photographs and autographs at Vienna Anytime Fitness. The public is invited. Anytime Fitness will be giving away a 3-month membership to one lucky attendee, while local restaurants like Subway, Cold Stone Creamery, Domino's and more are giving away gift certificates.

Tellman Knudson's charity run, a 3,200-mile barefoot run from New York to Los Angeles to raise $100,000,000 for homeless youth, is currently moving through the mid-Ohio River Valley. He teamed up with Goldsmith, who hails from nearby Mineral Wells, when he heard that she is active in local charities.

"She's such a great sport to run through Parkersburg with me," said Knudson. "I'm not pretty enough to get the attention that youth homelessness deserves. She's going to be a huge help."

"As soon as I heard about this crazy guy running across the country, I thought, 'Of course I want to be a part of this!'" said Goldsmith. "It's a wonderful charity, and I'm happy to lend a hand."

Erica Jade Goldsmith is the 5’4” brown-eyed, 23 year-old daughter of David and Malinda Goldsmith of Mineral Wells. She was a reporter for the WVU News, and was a member of the Student Government, and a participant in the American Cancer Society Date Auction. She is also involved with Walk Your Paws, Colleges Against Cancer, and the Mountaineer Maniacs. Erica plans on pursuing a career as an entertainment reporter.
