2010 World Cup Draw: United States Shares Group C with England, Algeria and Slovenia

The United States had a favorable draw for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa as the Americans landed in Group C where they will face England, Algeria and Slovenia.

England was the top-seeded team in Group C but instantly drew the U.S. and will play the Americans in their first game scheduled for June 12 in Rustenburg.

It has been more than 50 years since the Americans faced England in World Cup play, a 1-0 victory that is still considered one of the greatest upsets in tournament history.

The U.S. will also be facing Algeria and Slovenia in group play, two countries the Americans have never faced.
