The highly anticipated Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight appears to be set and a tentative date for March 13 has been announced.
Promoter Bob Arum met with Pacquiao in the Philippines and the two sides are said to have agreed on the formalities of the bout, making the once thought improbable mega-fight a very near reality. According to Michael Koncz, an adviser to Pacquiao, the meeting with Arum went off without a problem.
Koncz was quoted as saying, “The requests of Manny were so realistic that Arum doesn't feel it's a problem and it's pretty much a done deal.”
Fans began clamoring for the fight shortly after Pacquiao defeated Miguel Cotto last month, chanting “we want Mayweather” as the Filipino captured his seventh title in seven different weight divisions.
