Rwandan Peacekeepers Killed in Darfur, Second Deadly Attack in Two Days

Two Rwandan peacekeepers were killed and a third left injured after a man opened fire on the men while they were distributing water at a camp for the displaced in Sudan’s Darfur region.

 

According to reports the peacekeepers were passing out aid at the Shangil Tobaa camp when the man approached, pulled out a gun and began shooting.

 

Saturday’s deadly attack comes one day after three Rwandan peacekeepers were killed and two more left injured when the convoy they were travelling in came under attack.

 

Rwanda has a number of soldiers serving in the UN-African Union peacekeeping efforts in Darfur.
