Galang made a bold move in their first trip to tribal council. Instead of sending Laura B. packing, the tribe blindsided Laura M. in hopes that she could beat Brad Culpepper at Redemption Island. The move was orchestrated by Aras, and although it was a good move, he worries that it may put a big target on his back. Aras has good reason to worry – Gervase and Tyson are contemplating whether they should attempt to send to Redemption within the next several days.
Galang and Tadhana visit the Redemption Island Arena to watch Laura M., Culpepper and John compete in the duel. For the challenge, each player must walk across a balance beam and untie bags of numbered tiles to place in numeral order on a puzzle board. Laura takes an early lead and wins first place. It’s a close race between Culpepper and John, but then John pulls forward with a small lead. He wins the second open spot on Redemption, eliminating Culpepper from the game for good. Laura M. decides to give the hidden immunity clue to Vytas, but Vytas burns it before even opening it.
Jeff then delivers some news – the castaways will be drawing buffs to form new tribes. The new Galang tribes consists of Katie, Laura B., Tina, Kat, Vytas and Monica. The new Tadhana tribe consists of Tyson, Gervase, Aras, Caleb, Hayden and Ciera
Back at Tadhana’s camp, Tyson subtly tries to put a target on Aras’ back by reinforcing the idea that Aras was the leader at Galang. Meanwhile, Vytas hopes that showing vulnerability will make the girls trust him. He tells them about his past as a drug addict.
For the immunity challenge, members from each tribe must swim out into the ocean to retrieve fishing traps from under water. Once all traps are on shore, two puzzle solvers must use the traps to complete a puzzle. Apparently Galang’s Laura B. and Tina didn’t hear the very important part about bringing the trap back to shore because they release the trap but don’t bring it back with them. They have to swim back out to get it, which gives Tadhana a huge lead. Galang makes it up and is soon back in the challenge. They believe they have the puzzle solved twice, only to be told by Jeff that a puzzle piece is off. While they were celebrating two false wins, Tadhana pulls through with a real win.
Galang’s girls initially agree that Vytas is the target, but then Kat tries to gather votes against Monica because she doesn’t like the way Monica talks strategy all the time. Monica gets wind of Kat’s betrayal and soon Kat’s name is being thrown around as someone to vote for.
By the time Tribal Council rolls around Kat is fully aware that she has made a huge mistake. Her blunder is Vytas gain; he uses the pre-vote talk with Jeff to make sure the girls know Kat has shown that she can’t be trusted. Kat is sent to Redemption Island.
