The German-based company said it planned to make the purchase this week, reiterating hopes to take of Porsche in full in 2010. The company’s other brands include Audi, Bentley and Skoda.
Shares of VW were 1 percent higher at $120.66 while shares of Porsche fell 1.5 percent to $69.11 in late Frankfurt trading.
