Home Depot Launching Martha Stewart Line of Goods

Finance World News Update by EQUITIES Magazine

The nation’s largest home improvement retailer, Home Depot Inc., will start selling Martha Stewart-branded paint and cleaning products next year. The new lines will be added to the home décor and closet organization lines announced in September.

Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia Inc’s deal with Kmart ends in January.

Although home improvement retailers have suffered as consumers postpone renovations during the housing downturn, paint has done well because it’s relatively cheap. The new Martha Stewart partnership allows the home improvement giant to expand its offerings of products for less than $50.

Shares of Home Depot added 8 cents to $28.16 in morning trading, while Martha Stewart Living's stock gained 6 cents to $5.02.
