Apple Inc.'s (NASDAQ: AAPL) iPhone will begin sales throughout Israel this week. The country's three main carriers will finally start sales of the smartphone, almost two and a half years after its launch. Cellcom (NYSE: CEL) will begin its iPhone sales on Wednesday, Partner Communications (NASDAQ: PTNR) will launch sales on Thursday, with Bezeq Israel Telecom (TA.BEZQ) will start on Thursday as well.

Israel's mobile phone penetration rate is about 125%, one of the highest throughout the world. Its is estimated that approximately 80,000 Israelis have already bought iPhones abroad and have had them unlocked.
The Israeli operators have already committed to buy a minimum of 80,000 units each, however Bank of America Merrill Lynch analyst, Haim Israel, estimates the numbers will be quite a bit higher.
