The tribe swap left the tribes uneven when it comes to men and women. Ciera is the only girl on guy-dominated Tadhana while Vytas is the only guy on girl-dominated Galang. Vytas is right when he says Tadhana will have an advantage over them in a physical immunity challenge, but before the tribes compete for reward and immunity they must attend the Redemption Island duel.
Kat immediately gets emotional when she walks into the arena. Her first concern is how boyfriend Hayden is going to view her after being eliminated. Hayden reassures her that her Survivor game play isn’t a factor in their relationship. Kat wants him to switch places with her, but Hayden seems reluctant to give up his spot on Tadhana. He urges her to think long term, and Kat comes to the conclusion that he has a better shot at winning Survivor. Kat remains on Redemption Island and Hayden sticks with Tadhana.
The duel requires Kat, John and Laura M. to chop a rope, retrieve a bag of puzzle pieces, and then complete a puzzle. John gets off to good start and breezes through the puzzle. Laura M. has some trouble, but she uses John’s finished puzzle as a guide. Kat initially struggles to even get one piece on the puzzle, but she starts making progress with a little help from Tadhana. Kat wasn’t fast enough to beat Laura M. and is eliminated from the game for good. John gives the hidden immunity clue to Monica. Monica throws it into the fire again.
Back at Tadhana, Tyson is leading the charge against Aras. He feels that Aras will be dangerous if he makes it to the merge and reunites with his brother Vytas, so he makes a final 5 deal with Gervase, Ciera, Caleb and Hayden. They agree to take Aras out as soon as they have the chance.
At Galang, Vytas is succeeding at charming the women. He hopes to continue building trust with them so they won’t send him packing. The ladies plan to do just that if they fail at winning immunity. They have formed an all girls alliance and want to keep it strong for the merge.
For the immunity challenge, four members of each tribe are chained together to go through an obstacle course to collect bags of balls and chains which a fifth member must put together and throw at a ladder. The first tribe to land three balls on their ladder wins immunity and a fried chicken feast. Tadhana and Galang remain pretty even throughout the challenge. It comes to one ball left for each. Tyson scores before Tina and wins immunity for Tadhana.
Back at Galang’s camp, Laura B. takes it upon herself to tell Vytas he will be voted out at Tribal Council. Her announcement shocks and angers the other women because she didn’t talk to them about it first. Laura B.’s mistake puts a target on her back and opens up a chance for Vytas to stay. He makes a strong case for himself at Tribal Council, telling the women that they should be concerned about trust and not about gender. His argument works – Laura B. is sent to Redemption Island.
