The news comes on the second day of the 192-nation climate conference.
The world Meteorological Organization said that, despite Alaska having the second-warmest July on record, the United States and Canada were the only countries to experience cooler-than-average conditions.
The agency noted the extreme heat wave in India this May, the June heat wave in northern China and the summer melt reducing the Arctic Ocean ice cap to its smallest extent ever recorded.
The dramatic effects of global warming have marked the current decade.
