Jason Terry scored 27 points and Jerry Stackhouse added 21 off the bench to lead the Dallas Mavericks (60-11) past the Milwaukee Bucks (25-45) 105-103.
Dallas jumped to an 11-4 lead early in the first quarter and controlled most of the period as Dirk Nowitzki scored 13 points. Michael Redd kept the Bucks close though with 11 points of his own and at the end of one the Mavs were up 32-28.
Both teams stayed even in the second quarter until the Bucks closed the half on a 10-2 run and went into the locker room with a 62-54 lead.
In the third quarter the Mavericks used an 8-0 run to tie the score at 68-68 and then went up 71-69 after Terry buried a three-pointer. Milwaukee was able to regain the lead with a pair of free-throws from Redd and closed the quarter in front by three.
Stackhouse took control of the game in the fourth quarter for the Mavericks as the sixth man scored 12 points, nine coming from beyond the three-point arc. The score was tied at 103-103 with 29 seconds when Terry drew a foul and hit one of two free-throws. The Bucks then turned the ball over and fouled Stackhouse who hit one of two from the line. Milwaukee had a chance to tie it with 3 seconds left but Redd’s runner failed to hitthe mark.
Nowitzki and Josh Howard each finished with 17 points for the Mavs while Erick Dampier added 10 rebounds in the win.
Redd led the Bucks with 34 points.
