Christmas Comes Early for Children of Deployed Military Personnel
Hundreds of children of deployed military personnel based in CampPendleton will have toys this holiday season thanks to Operation Homefront and Wal-Mart.
On Friday, 700 families visited the “Toy Shop” that was set up at the QLNConferenceCenter in Oceanside, California. Spouses of deployed personnel were able to pick out toys for each child.
Wal-Mart bought over $80,000 worth of toys and the QLNConferenceCenter kept the coffee flowing for the 100+ Operation Homefront volunteers, making the day a huge success and Christmas a little brighter for these families.
The San DiegoNorthCountyConferenceCenter proved to be an ideal Oceanside event center for this occasion, given its proximity to CampPendleton, ample free parking, and spacious facilities. The conference center has become a popular Oceanside meeting space and San Diego training center, in addition to an ideal site for wedding, birthday, anniversary and other receptions.
With 42,000 square feet, seven spacious meeting rooms ranging in size from 572 to 3,187 square feet, and a 10,500 square foot exhibit hall, all QLNConferenceCenter guests can find the perfect room or rooms to make their event a success.
Individuals wishing to tour the facilities for an upcoming event can call 760-722-0072, ext. 193 or drop by 1938 Avenida del Oro in Oceanside, near the intersection of College and Oceanside Boulevards.
