NBA Scores: Toronto Raptors Start Fast and Drop Miami Heat

Chris Bosh recorded a double-double with 13 points and 18 rebounds while Anthony Parker added 20 points as the Toronto Raptors (39-32) beat the Miami Heat (38-33) 96-83 to stay ½ a game ahead of the Washington Wizards for the third spot in the Eastern Conference playoff standings.

Miami had a one point advantage early in the first quarter but the Raptors ran off ten straight and were up 18-9 with 3:59 left in the period. That nine point advantage was extended to 16 as Toronto closed the quarter on a 12-2 run.

The second quarter saw the Raptors move up by as many as 22 before settling for a 58-40 lead at the break.

By the first three-minutes of the third quarter the Raptors were up by 23. Miami struggled throughout the period and finished with just six field goals.

The Heat were able to get as close as nine in the fourth quarter but could never manage to overcome the early deficit they faced.

Toronto finished with six players scoring in double figures and had a 53-35 advantage on the glass. Juan Dixon finished with 18 points and 7 rebounds while T.J. Ford finished with 14 points and 9 assists.
