List of new movies being released on DVD and Blu Ray this week:
The Hobbit – An Unexpected Journey: starring Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen, Richard Armitage, Andy Serkis and Elijah Wood. The action/adventure film follows Hobbit Bilbo Baggins as he sets out on a journey to Lonely Mountain to recover a treasure stolen by the dragon Smaug. Rated: PG 13
White House Down: starring Channing Tatum, Jamie Foxx, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Jason Clarke and Richard Jenkins. The action film follows a Capitol policeman as he takes on a paramilitary group that has invaded the White House. He must save his daughter and the President. Rated: PG 13
Grown Ups 2: starring Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock and David Spade. The all-star cast of Grown Ups returns for a sequel in which the grownups learn a few lessons from their children. Rated PG 13
Parkland: starring Zac Efron, Paul Giamatti, Billy Bob Thornton, Jacki Weaver and Jeremy Strong. The drama chronicles the events at Parkland Hospital on the day President John F. Kennedy was assassinated. Rated PG 13
Lovelace: starring Amanda Seyfried, Peter Sarsgaard, Sharon Stone, Robert Patrick and Juno Temple. The biographical drama focuses on the life and work of Deep Throat actress Linda Lovelace. Rated R
Girl Most Likely: starring Kristen Wiig, Annette Bening, Matt Dillon, Christopher Fitzgerald and Darren Criss. The comedy follows a woman who is forced to move back to her mother’s New Jersey home after failing as a playwright. Rated PG 13
As I Lay Dying: starring James Franco, Jim Parrack, Tim Blake Nelson, Danny McBride and Ahna O'Reilly. The drama is based on the 1930 novel of the same name by William Faulkner. It follows the Bundren family as they bring their mother’s body home for burial. Rated R
Renoir: starring Michel Bouquet, Christa Theret and Vincent Rottiers. The drama tells the story of Impressionist painter Pierre-Auguste Renoir, his son Jean and his last muse, a beautiful girl named Andree. Rated R
Passion: starring Rachel McAdams, Noomi Rapace, Paul Anderson, Karoline Herfurth and Rainer Bock. The thriller tells the story of a deadly rivalry between an ad agency boss and her protégée. Rated R
