QualityStocks News - Hipcricket (HIPP) Partners with YTH and Oregon Health Authority to Promote HIV, STD Prevention
QualityStocks would like to highlight Hipcricket (OTCBB: HIPP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Augme Technologies. The company provides a unified mobile engagement platform that drives awareness, sales, and loyalty. The AD LIFE platform has been used by internationally recognized brands and agencies to power over 250,000 campaigns across SMS, 2D/QR codes, mobile websites, advertising networks, social media, and branded apps.
In the company’s news,
Hipcricket has partnered with long-time client, Internet Sexuality Information Services, Inc. (doing business as “YTH”), an Oakland, Calif.-based national non-profit organization, in which YTH will utilize Hipcricket technology to provide SMS text messaging, e-mail, and voice (IVR) to Oregon residents for the management and prevention of the transmission of HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).
Utilizing Hipcricket’s AD LIFE® platform, YTH and the Oregon Health Authority have built an opt-in database for HIV/STD testing, medication, and prescription refill reminders. The platform also enables the organization to provide subscribers with weekly educational health tips.
The program is completely voluntary, and subscribers enrolled to receive these free “mHealth alerts” can choose to opt-out at any time. All information stored in the system is secure, private, and HIPAA compliant.
“It’s been proven that a simple reminder can improve medication adherence and overall health and wellness, ultimately reducing HIV transmission within high-risk communities,” Deb Levine, M.A., president and founder of YTH, stated in the news release. “We are thrilled to be able to offer this mHealth service at the touch of a screen to all residents of the State of Oregon.”
YTH since 2005 has used Hipcricket’s platform to manage SMS messaging, opt-in membership lists, clinic and service locators, informational messages and regular reminders about HIV and STD testing. The non-profit has experienced significant success in reaching its audience through opt-in SMS campaigns, and finds mobile communication as a critical channel to continuing this success.
Earlier this year, YTH said it would extend its mobile health program by leveraging Hipcricket’s AD LIFE® Mobile Site Builder to create campaign and client-specific landing pages accessible through the mobile web.
