German Animal Trainer in Critical Condition Following Tiger Attack

A German animal trainer is in critical condition after three tigers attacked the man during a performance at the private Hagenbeck Zoo in Hamburg.

According to reports Christian Walliser, 28, tripped during the performance, triggering three of the five Bengal tigers to pounce. Walliser suffered bites to the head and rest of his body before the tigers could be driven back with fire extinguishers.

Walliser was fortunate in that there were two doctors in the audience when the attack occurred but his injuries are still considered life threatening.
