Gatorade Drops Tiger Woods Inspired Tiger Focus Drink, Claims Decision Made Months Ago

Tiger Woods’ relationship with Gatorade appears to be another casualty from his recent “transgressions,” as the PepsiCo-owned sports drink announced it would be terminating its Tiger Focus drink just months after launching the line.

PepsiCo has said the decision to drop the Tiger Woods inspired drink had been made months ago and had nothing to do with the fallout surrounding a string of affairs the golfer is alleged to have committed. The company stated that they were discontinuing the line, along with several other products, to make room for new lines in 2010.

Woods has been trying to remain low-key since a car accident nearly two weeks ago resulted in his private life spilling over into the headlines. What started as a story about a possible affair has led to claims the world’s number one golfer had numerous relationships that have apparently been going on for several years.

Initially the majority of Woods sponsors said they would continue to back their client but with negative news coming out daily it could be difficult to maintain that stance. Woods last appeared in a commercial, for Gillette, last month.
