The company reported on November 30, 2009 that the company’s gas production exceeded 400,000 cubic feet per day. As of December 2, 2009, the company’s production has risen to 500,000 cubic feet per day.

Far East Energy Corporation is engaged in the drilling, testing, and completion of exploratory coalbed methane gas wells and organizational activities. The company is part of three sharing contracts covering the Shouyang Block in Shanxi Province, the Qinnan Block in the Shanxi Province, and the enhong and Laochang areas in the Yunnan Province. The company formed an alliance with Arrow Energy International Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of Arrow Energy Limited, in regards to the Qinnan Block on March 13, 2009.
