Tarence Kinsey scored 20 points and Hakim Warrick grabbed 10 rebounds and finished with 18 points, including a pair of free-throws to seal the game with three seconds left to lift the Memphis Grizzlies () a 96-92 victory over the Portland Trailblazers () for their second straight win.
The win marked the first time this season the Grizzlies won back-to-back games. Not only did the Grizzlies win two in a row, they won them both on the road. They beat the Lakers on Tuesday to get the first win.
Zach Randolph was the only offense the Trailblazers could manage as he tried to keep Portland from failing at home. Randolph dropped 15 in the first quarter as the period ended in a 24-24 tie.
Memphis was able to grab a 50-46 lead at the half after hitting 11 free-throws in the second quarter to account of nearly half of their 26 points in the period.
The Grizzlies opened their lead to nine on a Kinsey dunk with five minutes remaining in the third but Portland fought back and cut the deficit to three by the end of the quarter.
Portland continued their hot streak into the fourth as they opened the quarter on a 11-4 run and took a 77-73 lead. Travis Outlaw extended the lead to six with 6:33 left on the clock and it looked as if the Trailblazers would put away the Grizzlies. But Memphis wasn’t done and they went on a 10-3 run to reclaim a one point lead with four minutes left. Randolph tied the score 90-90 with 1:09 on the clock but Kinsey answered with a jumper and Warrick hit a three-footer with nine seconds left in the game to go up four. Warrick then hit a pair of free-throws with three seconds to seal the win.
Randolph finished with 43 points and 17 rebounds in the loss as Portland dropped their third straight.
