Jason Richardson scored 36 points and 12 rebounds, Stephen Jackson added 29 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and Baron Davis finished with 21 points, 8 rebounds and 12 assists as the Golden State Warriors (34-39) beat the Phoenix Suns (53-18) 124-119.
The Warriors jumped on the Suns early and built a 23-9 lead in the first quarter. Richardson scored 22 points in the opening period, hitting six three-pointers. Stephen Jackson added ten points in the quarter and Golden State led 45-33 after one.
Jackson added another ten points in the second quarter and the Warriors finished the half with a 77-63 lead.
Richardson was back at it again in the third quarter with another ten points and the Warriors had a 109-86 lead at the end of the period.
Phoenix tried to fight their way back in the fourth quarter and had cut their deficit to twelve with 4:13 remaining on the clock but Stephen Jackson buried a three-pointer to boost the lead back to 119-104. The Suns managed to get within six after Kurt Thomas hit a pair of free-throws with 1:32 left but Baron Davis’ layup put the game out of reach for the Phoenix.
Leandro Barbosa led the Suns with 27 points.
