Since Shade Grown coffee requires little to no chemical fertilizers, and the shade trees are also providing a filter for carbon dioxide and aid in soil moisture retention, minimizing erosion, Shade Grown are promoting a healthy environment.

In a similar way, our RainForest Alliance Coffee is intended to protect the environment and the rights of workers. The basic guidelines are know as the Sustainable Agriculture Standard and additional rules apply to the coffee producers. Only when produced with the highest effort to preserve the natural habitat in which they are grown are coffees given the RainForest Alliance coffees seal of approval.
