Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission Demands Greater Conservation Effort

Finance World News Update by EQUITIES Magazine

Indian has set a goal of annual statewide energy savings of two percent within a decade.

Utility companies were informed by the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission that they must have programs that encourage home energy audits, home weatherization for low-income households and energy efficiency by schools and industries.

The agency said that greater efficiency would reduce the need for the construction of more power plants, adding that Indiana ranks 31st nationally and sixth in the Midwest for the amount of money spent on energy efficiency initiatives.
