In a lawsuit filed Tuesday in Delaware district court, LG Household & Healthcare Ltd. claimed P&G's Crest Whitestrips Advanced Seal used technology owned by the South Korean company, which holds two U.S. patents issued in 2004.
The 14-day supply of the whitening strips sells for about $45.
LG asked a federal jury to keep P&G from continuing to allegedly violate its patents and to award unspecified damages in the case.
A spokeswoman for P&G, headquartered in Cincinnati, didn't immediately return a call seeking comment.
P&G shares climbed 41 cents to $62.65 in afternoon trading Thursday.
