Times Square Shooting Leaves One Dead

One person is dead after a shooting at Times Square this morning. According to reports, an NYC undercover officer shot and killed a man around 11 a.m. Thursday.

The shooting took place near the parking garage of the Marriott Marquis hotel on 46th street. The officer opened fire on two suspects after one of the men fired two shots. One of the suspects, identified as 25-year-old Raymond Martinez, was shot twice and died of his injuries at Roosevelt Hospital.  Another man, who has not been identified, was detained for questioning.

Police say the two suspects were a part of a gang who sells counterfeit CDs to tourists.

No bystanders were injured or killed.
