ASA WARNS OF ‘A SOCIALIST HEALTH CARE COUP’
“The Senate Democratic leader claims there is a consensus over a new healthcare legislation deal – but beware. This is still an attempted socialist healthcare coup. The liberals pushing Obamacare, even if they don’t have the Senate votes to implement a full-blown government-run system, are still slowly expanding government programs so that all private healthcare is eventually destroyed,” says Stuart Barton, president of the American Seniors Association (ASA) representing hundreds of thousands of members nationwide.
“According to the Washington-based Heritage Foundation, the existing Medicaid expansions in the Senate bill, and the new Senate deal Medicare expansions, are just a continuation of the left’s trillion dollar-plus healthcare agenda,” Barton says. “The bill further delivers a huge blow to our nation’s hospitals by cutting Medicare reimbursements to them by hundreds of billions of dollars. And ASA agrees with those senators who underscore that Medicare must not be used as a piggy bank to pay for more government and more socialism.”
“As we’ve noted for weeks now, the AARP has sold out to congressional Democrat leaders and the White House so it can have a monopoly on selling insurance and thus reap profits under Obamacare. The AARP is not standing up for seniors, but ASA is fighting,” Barton says. “We appreciate senators – Republican, Democrat and Independent— who oppose socialistic control over our healthcare, who want Americans to be able to choose their own healthcare provider and insurer, and who are working to derail the Senate’s legislative monstrosity.”
