Blades of Glory Skates Past Competition for Top Spot at Box-Office

Will Ferrell and Jon Heder partnered on the ice to place "Blades of Glory" in the winner’s circle at the weekend box-office. The Paramount Pictures flick brought in $33 million to grab the top spot while Disney’s new release “Meet the Robinsons” finished second with just over $25 million.

Ferrell has been box-office gold for movie studios over the past several years. The former Saturday Night Live funnyman has starred in “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy,” “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby,” “Wedding Crashers,” and “Old School.” For Heder, life after “Napoleon Dynamite” has been good. He leant his voice to the successful Sony Pictures “Monster House” and had big roles in “The Benchwarmers” and “School for Scoundrels.”

In its fourth weekend “300” once again stayed strong with just over $11 million at the ticket counter. The Spartan flick is closing in on the $200 million mark, sitting at $179 million after the weekend.

Last Weeks number one, “TMNT” took a bit of a dive and dropped to fourth after brining in $9.16 million.
