French clubs along with AFM (French Association against myopathy) has been organizing Telethon for last 23 years which is broadcast on television.
French clubs along with AFM (French Association against myopathy) has been organizing Telethon for last 23 years which is broadcast on television. Myopathy is the genetic muscular diseases and several million people worldwide suffer from this disease. The aim of the program is primarily fund rising for several charitable works. Across France many poker clubs also organize independent charitable tournaments. Marseille is no exception. MarseilleHoldem along with Nicokent during last weekend (on December 4) organized a Telethon which was a poker tournament of not less than four tournaments. Among them three were open for general public. Anyone above the age of 18 are open to participate in the tournament. This took place in Grand Hall South Shore in Marseille. According to MarseilleHoldem in the 3rd Pokerthon the total collection touched a whooping sum of €4,000 which will be donated to AFM for charitable cause.
Though the amount is not less than last year’s collection but the organizers still expected to collect more than €4,000. This is because this year they planned to use the fund for greater causes. All these tournaments are free and one can participate without any buy-ins.
Nineteen voluntary groups supported this year’s tournaments. 324 amateur poker players volunteered in MarseilleHoldem by receiving the calls. 65 volunteers divided the presents. Simple basket to for Christmas of the OM was there on the list of gifts. Eminent guests like Dédé” Fournel the announcer of the Vélodrome Stadium and Domenica Grimault, OMTV director were present in the inauguration ceremony. At the later stage of the ceremony Eric Koskas, the famous professional poker player joined them.
In the Lesneven’ Breton community a tournament will be held. In this tournament, emission Poker Caribbean MissionIn candidates will also be present. Likewise, in the Pokerthon to be held in Garenne Doves will surely be a success because almost 300 players have already registered for the tournament.
