YouTube Video Shows Four People Whitewater Rafting on the New Fox Signature Air Mattress

AirMattress.com recently picked up the latest upgrade for the Fox Signature Series from Fox Airbeds. To test out the durability, Fox Airbed’s Max Gurel took a prototype white water rafting down the Salmon River.

Fox Airbed’s video producer Max Gurel along with five others rafted down the Salmon River on a new Fox Signature Series air mattress which is geared to be launched for Nov. 25, 2013. Gurel videotaped the excursion to show the durability of the new Fox Signature Air Mattress down the Salmon River, which is rated as a class III.

Gurel was aided in his white water rafting excursion with experienced river guides Ryan Taylor, Daniel Court and Jessica Court. Other riders included Kenna Gurel and Scott Marchant who Gurel describes as “white water rafting newbs.”

Jessica Court added, “I’ve been a river guide in Salmon for about nine years (nine summers). I kayak and I raft and I ski and rock climb, but I’ve never ‘airmattressed’ down the river before.”

This was an unusual experience not only for the participants involved, but also for other people rafting down the river. Many people asked Gurel what they were doing. “We told people we were product testing.” The general reaction? “People were really surprised, they thought it was funny.”

The trip lasted three days. Gurel says, “The first day we all rafted the Salmon River from Spring Creek to Panther to test it out with four on the raft and two in kayaks. We left the topper and sheet off and put straps around it for handles.”

The two people following in kayaks filmed the group on the air mattress as they rafted down the river. On the second day, they added the memory foam and sheet and headed for the Pine Creek rapids while two people filmed from the shore.

On the last day, they did the stretch from Spring Creek to Panther with four people again on the bed. As one kayaked and one followed on the shore, those filming watched as the crew on the river rafted without the memory foam or pillow top.

Gurel adds that even after sleeping and rafting with the air mattress the pump “still worked fine.” While it’s not advisable to take air mattresses out white water rafting, the video demonstrates the durability of the new Fox Signatures Series.
